By what means do we measure value?

Is it in the attention of others,
the praise of our peers,
jealous stares for our beauty,
or a lover’s gentle embrace?

Is it in grades, ribbons, and trophies,
being better than ‘the other guys’,
having proud parents, a bounty of friends,
or just the praise of strangers passing by?

Beauty is fleeting, pictures, they fade,
people will come and go.
Dust gathers and memories fail
leaving you forgotten and alone.

How do we measure value
in a busy, dying world?
Now I’m no sage, still learning myself,
but I’ve found this to be true…

My Father, He loves me,
more than any other,
enough to send His only Son
to pay for my crime, my sin, with His blood.

But the Son, my Savior,
He lives again, you see;
for death had no power over Him,
just as it holds no power over me.

I am loved and cherished
by the King of all things,
and while I forget it sometimes,
it doesn’t change a thing.

So thank you all, for your support,
for faves, and comments, and more,
but when this is over, and life moves me on
I’m thankful my value’s not defined by the world

For my Father cares for sparrows,
who sing, and fly, from tree to sky,
and if he values these tiny birds,
how much more does he value me?
Thanks guys for 5,000+ views.  You all rock so much!  Hugs for you all!!
